Calcium chloride

Product description
An inorganic compound, calcium chloride belongs to the chloride group and is the resultant salt from the combination of hydrochloric acid and calcium. Known for its strong hygroscopic attributes, calcium chloride can attract and hold water molecules from its surroundings.
Application
When winter arrives, this compound, mixed with sodium chloride, is spread on roads to prevent ice formation. Conversely, in warmer months, it's used to curb the generation of dust on roads. This is primarily due to its ability to retain moisture and the viscous nature of its hydrates, thereby maintaining a liquid layer on the surface of unpaved roads to inhibit dust dispersal. By creating a cushioning layer, finer dust particles are kept grounded on the road surface. Beyond these applications, calcium chloride finds its way into the culinary world as an acidity regulator, stabilizer, emulsifying salt, carrier, and binder. It also plays a role in drying gases and organic liquids and is instrumental in the production of calcium-based compounds.
